In accordance with the directives of the Minister of Water Resources, Engineer Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, to mobilize the mechanical  and technical effort of the Ministry’s departments and formations, a meeting was held for the directors of the ministry’s departments in Maysan governorate, chaired by the head of the crisis cell to deal with the floods in the province of Amara, Director General of the Rivers dredging works Execution Office, Engineer Ali Fadhil Hussein, where the current situation of the expected water incoming during the coming days was reviewed in light of weather forecasts. The Director General ordered to mobilize the automatic and technical effort and keep on continuous monitoring of the flood streams in anticipation of any emergency, as the responsibilities and sectors distributed among the departments besides going on follow-up there and then.
